Monique Buchanan combines her services and acquired knowledge in real estate, her passion and desire for her community, especially the elderly, which has resulted in her building: THE EAGLE’S NEST RETIREMENT CENTER

Many may know Monique Buchanan as the Real Estate Guru. She has taken the real estate sector by storm and has built a name synonymous with her passion, known as “Moni the Closer.” She is quite compassionate and resilient in serving her community.

She is known as Moni the Closer! Her success is a result of her passion for giving the best service to her real estate clients. She has achieved many awards and recognitions, which surprised her, as she was only giving her best in her line of trade. Expecting nothing but for a client to get the correct knowledge, experience, and value of their purchase. Some of the purchases she closed for her clients range from homes, businesses, or even a church! Working hard and tirelessly, realizing the impact it would have on her family and community has made Monique garner a name and recognition in the world of Real Estate. She has built a company that employs and manages other real estate agents and has presented opportunities to many. Construction workers especially have also been employed through the many ventures of Monique Buchanan.

You may wonder where the “heart and passion” she displays come from and what amazing new venture is Ms. Monique bringing to her community.

Monique credits her upbringing as the cause of her passion for serving in general and serving her family. She was born to a praying mother of great faith! She has three siblings, of which Monique is the oldest. Her biological father was an intelligent fellow, but unfortunately, his addiction to heroin and alcohol got the best of him. Her mom was a victim of domestic violence but was determined to save Monique and her siblings from that type of life.

Monique credits her mom with giving her a village that would provide mentorship and guidance to keep her on the right track. This has been proven by her tenacity and grit and her upward bound. Monique glows when she speaks of the experience and guidance she acquired while working as a teen in a nursing home. Her experience of serving the elderly helped her to buy clothes and toiletries and to be surrounded by good role models.

There was most definitely a positive impact on Monique while working in the nursing home. Her caring for the elderly at a young age enabled her to understand and recognize the value of their wisdom. Her attachment to this “dear audience” has stayed with her over the years. Now presenting a Skilled Nursing Facility for the care and treatment of the elderly is “what’s next” for Ms. Monique Buchanan.

Monique combines her service and acquired knowledge in real estate, her passion and desire, and presents…The Eagle’s Nest Retirement Center is a 501c3 40 Bed Skilled Nursing Facility. This state-of-the-art establishment will have a chapel, beauty and barber salon, full cafeteria, dining room, and 24-hour security.

This grand establishment will be in North St. Louis City. It is 100 percent Medicaid and Medicare approved by Congress! This facility will also have a strong presence in workforce development with opportunities and training to ensure gainful employment for our employees and the community we serve.

Monique’s desire to build her facility in an impoverished area was on purpose for a purpose.  Her goal is to provide hope for teenagers and young adults to be around a positive environment in their community and learn from the wealth of knowledge (mistakes and triumphs) of the elderly. To be able to have a good job located in their community and provide excellent service to the elders of their community in their community. This facility will provide over 25 skilled and unskilled jobs. The facility seeks to hire strongly in the North St. Louis City area.

Continued Education, Professional Development and Training, and Workforce Development Partnerships will be complimentary benefits of working at this state of the art’s medical facility in North St. Louis City.

Monique is the most thrilled to build this beautiful facility for the seniors. First and foremost, with a white glove policy.  A home for the elderly that is safe and clean. With caring employees that have a nurturing spirit and a kind disposition. Just what they deserve and what their families want to know they will be receiving. We have a need for the best for our seniors, and The Eagles Nest Retirement Center will provide the best for our seniors on Purpose.

Monique is determined to protect our seniors, she is a generational changer, and we are blessed to have her!

Let’s be honest—Easter, for many, has become just another holiday on the calendar. Bright pastel ads, last-minute retail runs, and overflowing candy aisles often drown out the deeper meaning of the season.

Some people leave a mark on your organization. Others leave a mark on your heart. Pastor Ricky D. Floyd did both. It’s hard to put into words what this man meant to me, to Kings & Priests, and to so many others who were blessed to cross his path.

I was seven the first time I hid a crack pipe. It was used, still warm, and I slid it under the big blue sectional before my big brother could open the door. He was at the front, shaking. “My mom said not to let anybody in,” he kept repeating.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and an opportune time for us to examine where we are as a people as well as a church when it comes to the stigmatization that continues to follow this critical area of our well-being. While society overall has begun trending toward more awareness, there has not been that same movement in churches, especially congregations that are historically houses of worship for people of color.

Marriage is ministry. It’s not about who leads, who follows, who talks louder, or who works harder. It’s about two people walking in agreement under God’s covering, carrying the weight of life together, and building a love that honors the Lord.

When most people think of the Prison Ministry, they think of going inside the correctional facilities. That is my passion, and I’ve done it for forty-seven years; however, I realize that other people find going into a facility intimidating.

To everything, there is a season. As one season comes to a close, another begins. Just as Moses passed the mantle to Joshua, I am honored to pass the mantle of leadership to Evangelist Leandra Green as the new pastor of Believers Temple Word Fellowship.
