"The Testimony of

Gerome Crayton"

Trees

January 3, 2021, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois, after over six hours in the ER and numerous blood draws and testing, I was informed by the doctor:

“Mr. Crayton, they were admitting you, and we're just waiting on a room before moving you upstairs.” I never would have thought I was going to hear these words from the nephrologist (kidney doctor).

After the consultation with the nephrologist that my kidneys had taken a severe hit, I was advised to strongly consider Dialysis Treatment. My entire world and mind SHIFTED. My wife asked me whether she should inform my family and friends, but I refused.

 I replied to her, “I'll let them know when I'm ready.”

After two weeks in the hospital and much consideration from the doctors, a temporary treatment was administered, and a fistula was implanted in my body.

Fast forward to December 17, 2021, the first day of Kidney Dialysis Treatment, I watched my blood circulate from my body through a machine to clean my blood and rid it of all the toxins that my kidneys were unable to filter out. My mental state started to weaken and to add insult to misery; the first three potential donors were denied respectively. The first person was disqualified because their kidney was too small. The second person was overweight, and the third person had an issue with their heart. The feeling of hopeless settled in, and my faith and desire to serve God dwindled to an All Time Low that I hadn't experienced in over twenty-five years since completing my journey of Hope Program through Hope Ministry, The Door of Faith in Des Moines, where I graduated, or even before completing my G.E.D. and returning home to be united with my family and start my new life living for the Lord.

As I remembered God’s promises to us in His word that:

He will not leave nor forsake us, When the enemy comes against us, He will raise a Standard in us that no gates of hell can prevail against, and;

God has a plan to Prosper us and not harm us, giving us a future filled with hope.

My faith grew far beyond my fears, courageously facing everything and rising above them. Today, I can proudly testify that I, Gerome Crayton, am an OVERCOMER by the “words of my testimony and the Blood of the Lamb,” Jesus Christ, who died and rose on the third day with all the power and glory.

When God be for any of us, can’t NOTHING be against us—we win endlessly. As my bishop, Dr. Eddie E.L. Warren, says, “God is in our future, and our future is in God; we can't go back, we will not go back, but we will go on with God because we are in it to win it all.” As I wait upon the Lord, my strength has been RENEWED, and I trust God will bring the perfect match for my kidneys any moment from now, in Jesus’ name.

I'm thankful to each of you for your prayers and love through this challenging situation.

To God be all the GLORY for this testimony.
