Holiday Style"

Reviewing your year during the holidays can be important for several reasons:

1. Reflection and Gratitude:

The holiday season often encourages a spirit of reflection and gratitude. Reviewing your year allows you to acknowledge and appreciate the positive aspects of the past year, fostering a sense of gratitude for the experiences, accomplishments, and relationships you've had.

2. Learning and Growth:

Assessing your year provides an opportunity for self-reflection on both successes and challenges. By identifying what worked well and what didn't, you can gain insights into your strengths and areas for improvement. This self-awareness contributes to personal growth and development.

3. Setting Goals for the Future:

Reflecting on the past year can help you set realistic and meaningful goals for the coming year. Understanding your achievements and areas where you fell short allows you to set intentions and objectives for personal and professional growth.

4. Reconnection with Values:

The holidays often bring a focus on core values and principles. Reviewing your year helps you evaluate whether your actions and decisions align with your values. This process can guide you in making choices that better reflect your core beliefs in the future.

5. Closure and Letting Go:

The end of the year is an excellent time to find closure. Acknowledging both positive and negative experiences allows you to let go of any lingering regrets, disappointments, or unresolved issues. This emotional closure can create space for a fresh start in the new year.

6. Celebrating Achievements:

It's important to celebrate your achievements, no matter how big or small. Reviewing your year provides an opportunity to recognize and celebrate your successes, reinforcing a positive mindset and motivation for the future.

7. Planning for the New Year:

Understanding the past year's experiences helps in creating a more informed plan for the future. Whether it's making career decisions, setting fitness goals, or planning personal projects, a review of the past year can inform your strategy for the coming months.

8. Quality Time with Loved Ones:

Sharing and discussing your reflections with family and friends during the holiday season can strengthen your relationships. It provides an opportunity for open communication and bonding as you collectively review the highs and lows of the year.

Reviewing your year during the holidays is a holistic practice that encompasses gratitude, self-awareness, goal-setting, closure, celebration, and strengthened connections with others. It sets the stage for a positive and intentional start to the upcoming year. In my forty years in business, I've resolved to be more intentional, more accountable, more consistent, and more committed. Each year has brought new challenges that strengthen me, even though, sometimes, it's painful. I am grateful for the support of my loved ones and colleagues. Best wishes to all for an amazing holiday season and a fantastic new year.
