My name is Author Julia Byas, founder and senior pastor of ITGWU worship center/Women of power Ministries/Servants working in Unity.

God can use a broken woman to help other broken people to prevent or manifest victory. A place that would cause them to stand still, believing the lie and not fulfilling God’s call for their lives. Brokenness can be good, and being broken can also be bad, but I will tell you how. We use the utensils of His word with obedience.

On January 30, 2021, I was awakened the day after the first vigil for my son Maurice and heard in my spirit the power of the spoken word. I went to my computer and began to write “AN INSPIRED ACT AS THOUGH I AM ALREADY THERE I AM” pamphlet.

The following day, for a month, I was inspired at 4 am to arise and write all day, eating nothing and only drinking water. Indeed, it was a powerful experience. I am a retiree, and we don’t get up early (SMILE). This had to be God. My precious son, Apostle Maurice O. Lewis, died on Thanksgiving on November 27, 2003. During this journey since 2003, I did the work of the ministry. I had worked for God and put Him first in my life.

In the beginning, when I lost my son, I could not handle it. I just fell to the floor and told God I could not do it. From that moment, He lifted me and carried me all these years to be able to do

His will. For all these years, I was unaware of the damage that had been done in my life while I was walking on this journey until I was awoken.

Then I began to write after his vigil. I was shifted to a different place in my life. Though I was still unable to explain everything, my book ACT AS THOUGH I AM ALREADY, I AM THERE POWER OF THE SPOKEN WORD was totally God-inspired. It has told some of the story and brought me to a greater understanding of the power of obedience to His word and destroyed all the negativity that had been spoken into your life. God can take brokenness and turn it into Power. For this, I praise Him using His Word in my book to verify that our Lord is Powerful. We can use His Word to gain and sustain our victory in Him.

After brokenness, is the results of the leftover which is the dust from the pain and brokenness. The breaking of the heart and the tears, the leftovers that appear after you have been broken and poured out. What do you do with the remains? We give it to God. Seek you first, the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added... The loss of a child is not explainable; we are never ready to bury our children. My book was inspired by the spirit within me and was written out of the victory of the spoken word. My mentee asked me if I had ever had a vigil for my son. I had never thought of it. He asked, “If I do a vigil for him would you come?” And a “YES” came flowing out of my heart, not sure why at the time. He set it all up and arranged everything. He got the balloons and the candles, and I got the people together. I fixed the food, and my grandchildren were all on board, and the family came. That night was so exciting; I was overwhelmed by the presence of God. I was unaware of the deliverance that had occurred in my life until I woke up the next day. For, I praise God for the ability to write my book. The “Act as though I'm already there I am there POWER OF THE SPOKEN WORD, was written out of obedience. The book demonstrates how the spoken word was used to express how I got to where I was or how I got to where I am. I thank God for my book and my experience, but I really thank God for my THERE.

Surely Pastor Julia Byas is More than A Conqueror!

Let’s be honest—Easter, for many, has become just another holiday on the calendar. Bright pastel ads, last-minute retail runs, and overflowing candy aisles often drown out the deeper meaning of the season.

Some people leave a mark on your organization. Others leave a mark on your heart. Pastor Ricky D. Floyd did both. It’s hard to put into words what this man meant to me, to Kings & Priests, and to so many others who were blessed to cross his path.

I was seven the first time I hid a crack pipe. It was used, still warm, and I slid it under the big blue sectional before my big brother could open the door. He was at the front, shaking. “My mom said not to let anybody in,” he kept repeating.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and an opportune time for us to examine where we are as a people as well as a church when it comes to the stigmatization that continues to follow this critical area of our well-being. While society overall has begun trending toward more awareness, there has not been that same movement in churches, especially congregations that are historically houses of worship for people of color.

Marriage is ministry. It’s not about who leads, who follows, who talks louder, or who works harder. It’s about two people walking in agreement under God’s covering, carrying the weight of life together, and building a love that honors the Lord.

When most people think of the Prison Ministry, they think of going inside the correctional facilities. That is my passion, and I’ve done it for forty-seven years; however, I realize that other people find going into a facility intimidating.

To everything, there is a season. As one season comes to a close, another begins. Just as Moses passed the mantle to Joshua, I am honored to pass the mantle of leadership to Evangelist Leandra Green as the new pastor of Believers Temple Word Fellowship.
